2024 Rules & Eligibility
In order to compete in the Round Lake Area Pageant, the following must be true:
• Tiny Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 4-6 years old by the pageant day.
• Little Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 6-10 years old by the pageant day.
• Junior Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 11-15 years old by the pageant day.
• Miss Contestants must be between the ages of 16-21 years old by the pageant day.
• Contestants must be a resident of the Round Lake Area, with a 60073 zip code and/or pay taxes to the Round Lake Area Municipality.
• Contestant must identify as a girl or woman.
• Contestants must be single, never married or have had a marriage annulled, and never been a mother.
• Contestant must never have been convicted of a crime.
• Contestant can only hold a title once in each age category.
• As a contestant, you must be enrolled in school or have a high school diploma or have completed the G.E.D. program. If you are 18 years or older, you must be enrolled in High School or college or completed college or a trade school program. You must have good standing grades or have finished school in good standings. If the RLA board feels you do not meet those requirements, a reference letter may be requested from a teacher, guidance counselor, or a school official
• If a contestant is a title holder in any other pageant system she must be willing to give up such title to compete in the Round Lake Area Pageant.
• Contestants must agree to the following before the pageant:
‣ Pay a non-refundable application fee before the Informational Meeting.
‣ Attend all rehearsals, interviews and functions associated with the pageant.
‣ Must agree to participate in the Lake County Illinois State Pageant.
• Contestants must agree to the following after the pageant:
‣ Hand deliver thank you cards to sponsors within 4 weeks of being crowned.
‣ Meet all Round Lake Village Boards.
‣ Attend all village festivals.
‣ Participate in Round Lake Area and neighboring community parades and events.
‣ Bake and deliver cookies during the holiday season.
‣ Fundraise and recruit for the 2025 Round Lake Area Pageant.
• The contestant agrees that by competing in the 2024 Round Lake Area Pageant she will not compete in another LCIS affiliated town pageant in the 2024 season. LCIS affiliated towns include Antioch, Fox Lake Area, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lindenhurst, Mundelein, Northern Lakes, Round Lake Area, Vernon Hills, Wadsworth, and Winthrop Harbor.
• If crowned, contestants must agree to accept friend requests from the Directors on all social networking sites. Absolutely no inappropriate conduct, posts or photos will be tolerated. If the Directors asks you to take a photo or post down, you will immediately need to do so.
• Any unsportsmanlike or inappropriate conduct during the pageant will not be tolerated. Any contestants found to be doing so will be disqualified and/or removed from the pageant. They will also be banned from competing in this and all future Round Lake Area Pageants at the Directors discretion.
• Should the Queen no longer reside in Round Lake Area, enter into an unapproved pageant or in any other way become ineligible, she must relinquish her title, crown, sash and prizes to the First Runner-Up.
